Hello everyone, 

 

as the topic mentions, i cannot start pillars of eternity anymore, as the game crashes seconds after hitting the play button on steam. I will attach the crash report to this thread, before i will give a short insight in what i tried to fix the issue: 

 

as i read on other post: 

• tried starting as administrator
• varified game data via steam
• re-installed the game
• tried the font issue solving as described in some threads. 

Game doesn't start since about a week, since about last month(ish) the game crashed several times while playing. 

output_log.txt and error.txt included in the zip file. 

 

hope you can give me another hint than reinstalling my os.

Kannst du prüfen, dass deine große Grafikkarte verwendet wird?

Und dein Geforce Treiber scheint grade frisch zu sein, aber kannst du Direct X 11 nochmal neu installieren? Daran scheint auch Conan Exiles dran gescheitert zu sein.

Erstmal vorweg danke für die Hilfe, aber darf ich wissen, woher du die info mit conan exiles hast? 

 

Ich hab PoE jetzt einmal mit der Onboard und mit der Nvidia probiert, bei der Onboard funktioniert es, halt nicht flüssig wie zu erwarten war, das andere führte zum Absturz. 

Dann habe ich directx über den end-user distributable installer (directx_june2010_redist) installiert und dann nochmal versucht über den normalen Installer zu updaten, was sich aber als nicht notwendig herausstellte. Programmstart funktioniert jetzt, allerdings mit Artefakten bei den Intros und gefühlt längeren Ladezeiten des Safegames bzw. des neuen test-spielstarts. 

Mir ist allerdings unter den Systemeinstellungen von Nvidia aufgefallen, dass die animierte 3d Einstellung auch zu Artefakten führt, zudem zu freeze, blackscreen und nach 2-3 durchgängen zu nem bluescreen. 

Habe mich mit der Sache jetzt direkt an den Nvidia Support gewandt, werde, wenn es zu einer Lösung kommt hier updaten, dann auch wieder auf Englisch.

Problem not yet solved but in short, i reinstalled my nvidia software completely including the drivers and i reinstalled directx and further ran some repair tools of windows such as scannow and restorehealth to make sure there is no OS issue. Still there are problems with gaming in general which led to freezes and bluescreens (dpc watchdog violation). Given the hint of xaratas, that it is most likely an graphic issue, i contacted the nvidia support. I will update the situation if this leads to a fix.

Klar, das hab ich aus dem Dxdiag log, da standen unten dran ein paar crashes von diesem Spiel.

 

Das redistributable ist DirectX 9, da das schon mal half, vermute ich, dass das Spiel im reinen DX9 Modus läuft. Aber die Artefakte deuten darauf hin, dass DX11 weiterhin nicht vollständig verfügbar ist. Da Updates dafür nur über Windows Update zu bekommen sind wüsste ich jetzt keinen weg wie man das erneut installiert. Möglicherweise ist es in den Systemkomponenten beim Programme und Funkionen hinzufügen Dialog zu finden.

 

Ich würde den Befehl "sfc /scannow" vorschlagen. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff184577.aspx
