Sworn Enemy supresses Marked Prey?

I've cast them both on an enemy and hovering the cursor over it shows that Marked Prey is suppressed. According to the description of these abilities, I thought they works independently, Marked Prey only giving bonus to ranger and animal companion, and Sworn Enemy only to paladin. How do they really work?
