Path problems seems bad as the "original" (BG)

The path finding in the old Baldurs Gate games was a mess. With Pillars it seems better, at first sight. But fights in closely caves or near doors ends in chaos sometimes. How it could be that one character is blocking the whole door? The party should have an overlapping tolerance to move past each other in this situations.
