Xbox 360- after training battle, load screen has Douchebag and nothing else

I bought the game in an Xbox 360 sale, and when I start the game, earn the Doucherbag name and finish the first 3 battles after training, I see a black screen that my character walks into, but nothing happens after that. I can pull up the menu by hitting start, but nothing else happens after that.
