Google Play Error "df-rpc-01" when trying to purchase any item within the pathfinder app

I receive the error:  "Error retrieving information from the server. [DF-RPC-01]" when trying to purchase any item within the pathfinder app.  I am able to purchase from the storefronts of other games.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Pathfinder game, but that did not help.  Any suggestions?

EDIT: Update.  I am able to purchase through my tablet.  My tablet has only my personal account registered with Google.  My phone (the device I receive the error on) has two accounts, my personal and work account which has two factor authentication tied to it.  Researching the error DF-RPC-01 seems to be payment/account related, so it's possible having multiple accounts might be the problem.
