I have tried recreating this crash wih every one of my 160+ Steam games, as well as a half ozen or so Blizzard titles and a dozen or so Origin games (including the rather demanding Battlefront);I therefore doubt it is an overheating issue. Pillars is the only game causing crashes.

SYMPTOM: The game is running notmally, then will crash with a "Pillars of Eternity has stoppe responding" error. If I left running idle, the game will crash in the same fashion. The crash can take any open program with it; a browser, Explorer itself, my CPU temp monitor, etc....

-Tried verifying game cache.
-Performed full and clean remove/reinstalls of video cardd drivers.
-Tried older driver versions following same method; problem persists.
-Did a memory test and stress test; all RAM is fine.
-Game is being run as Admin.
-Graphics options all the way to the left. 
-No malware present on my system as per SpyBot and Malwarebytes Pro.
-Tried deleting the "UNCL" font but it is not even present on my system.
-Tried reinstalling DirectX,

At this point, I am out of ideas...

Forgot, here are my attached files form the lone crash report I have captured out of the...dozen or so I have had. It mentions that PillarsofEternity.EXE caused a dvide by zero error in...PillarsofEternty.EXE

 

I also noticed that when it crashes, it causes a lot of general instability in my system; fonts get corrupted and/or flashy, running apps in my systray will shut down..and once my PC BSOD'd about 5 minutes after the game crashed and my system seemed to go haywire.

 

During the last crash, I was monitoring my video card and CPU temps; GPU rose as high as 51, the CPU never went above 40.

 

I've been playing tons of other games and not had a single problem in any of them, even after hours of play...I don't believe this is hardware related, but who knows at this point.

Also adding my DXDIAG. It did not seem to find any problems. One thing to note; I am using the 14.9 Catalyst drivers for my card due to a weird bug introduced in later drivers...disabled HDMI sound completely. I have tried rolling back the sound driver alone to an earlier version whole leaving the latest display driver installed...same problem. The game crashes and takes a good chunk of my system with it.

I think I figured it out, although I am confused as to what  the problem was. The game was crashing in the same area over and over again, barely 15-20 minutes into the game. I noticed it was doing an enormous amount of disk reads at the time it crashed. I moved the game from a slower 1Tb drive to a faster Raid 0 array I have, and that gave me longer to go before the game crashed again.

 

I then read about a command to enter at the DOS prompt which seemed to fix the issue for users of WIn 7 32 bit. I tried it...and for the first time I got out of the area without a crash. Thing is, I have WIndows 7 64-bit, as confirmed all over the place on my system (and by me, when I installed it!).

 

Seems the game has memory management issues still....
