Fairly new to modding and thought that I could download unity, import existing files and bang let the modding begin. That didn't work so I went to the internet for guidance. Not much on the subject other then "It's hard to do", so here I am asking for help.

 

-What are you using to mod?

-Any tips?

-Is it possible to create a new race and/or a new class?

 

(really want to make a race similar to animats and make a Dragoon class)

Really? no input at all? I'm so confused as to how modders are editing these files

Have you considered reaching out to one of the modders on nexus mods?

I've tried reaching out to nexus modders in the past and most of the time they only care if you have helpful information or complex modding questions rather than beginner questions.
