May 15, 201510 yr Solution Hey Omnicron, The barrier doesn't drop until you accept the "Master Below" quest from the Warden (Statue in the Main Keep).

It was just part of exploring conversations in my 1st playthough, I thought it was automatically awarded once you speak to the Warden after killing Maerwald. (managed to actually screw up the conversation by rushing though it and then there was no option to have her talk about it O_o &then loaded the autosave ) Edited May 15, 201510 yr by Omnicron
