The morning star, Daybreak, is found inside a locked chest inside Breith Eaman. Daybreak has Slaying (Wilder). None of the enemies you encounter in that area are Wilders. Is this a mistake?

lol, yes very.

 

A morning star actually comes in pretty handy in that area, however you're better off bring an exceptional morning star with Shock as a secondary damage type.
