Chanters are supposed to start the game with two level 1 phrases and a level 1 incantation.

At level 3, they are supposed to get an additional level 1 phrase (bringing the total to three).

At level 5, the level 2 phrases unlock.

 

If Kana joins your party at level 5, he has two level 1 phrases and two level 2 phrases. This shouldn't be possible.

 

The correct distribution is 3/1, not 2/2.
