Bear Cave Problems (spoiler)

Entered Bear Cave and cursor turned to red circle indicating an unwalkable area. Party is stuck inside entrance of cave. Can click on the leave cave icon, but can not go further into the cave, making it impossible to attack bear, meet ghost and resolve the quest.

Running the GOG version with patch.

Followup to Bear Cave problem. Created new character. Same problem, so unlikely a corrupt save game file.  Before patch, worked fine. Since patch, problem has occured.

Followup. Now working. Uninstalled game completely, re-installed, started new game. Entered cave, killed bear. Installed patch loaded save prior to entering cave and it worked. Now confused.
