Durance reminds me very heavily of Soren Kierkegaard, at least in the way he thinks of faith (he also reminds of Martin Luther, who occasionally could be quite vulgar). I love this character. It is really rare that faith is discussed as a theological topic in a video game, and I was really impressed. Whoever wrote this character clearly had a grasp of at least some theology. What do other people think of him? 

He reminds me of the guy off the cover of Jethro Tull's Aqualung album.
