Downloaded Pillars of Eternity on Steam. I have a Macbook Pro, so want to play it on OSX.
Steam downloads and installs the game just fine. Upon pressing 'Play', Steam says "failed to start game, missing executable'.
Clicked the support page and did all troubleshooting steps (verified game files, cleared appscache, re-installed the game) but still doesn't work.
Upon inspecting the files downloaded, I realise Steam has downloaded the Windows version of the game on my Macbook OSX.
Pillars of Eternity is SteamPlay, which means the one copy can be played on Windows, OSX and Linux. Why isn't the game installing the OSX version as it should be? Usually if it's a Windows-only copy or game, it won't let you install a game on Steam at all. But Steam recognised this game as Mac-compatible and let me download, so not sure what to do.
