Here's a weird one! Pick up Eder at level 2 and he has knockdown and rapid recovery. Pick up Eder at level 3 and he has knockdown, rapid recovery, defender, and weapon focus: ruffian. So, at least in my experience, picking him up later nets you an extra talent that he otherwise wouldn't be able to afford until level 4.

 

(Unless I'm overlooking something obvious here. Which is quite possible!)
