False. Such programs have been around, and at periods, in greater potency, than today. 6. True, and the reasons his tax rate is so low are essentially 'legitimate' 7. True... mostly. There are a a few minor problems with the numbers, and the low tax revenue are probably due, in large part, to a weak economy. 8. False. Although Obama said he would not oppose the ban, the administration clarified that there are no plans in the reinstatement of the ban on a federal level due to the ability of states to do this themselves and, more importantly, because Obama plans to focus on the economy and not gun control. 9. There is a study suggesting the 2.5 million cases of armed prevention, however it suffers from various methodological flaws. More thorough, moderate estimates of crimes prevented by armed citizens is about 1 million. It is also worth noting (person bias coming in here) that 9/10 guns used in gun crimes are illegally obtained. 17. c.
