I need help!

So I have a laptop using Vista and I am trying to launch the game but I get a popup saying that KOTOR2 has stopped working. Then if I look at the details it says:

kotor uses direct sound and vista doesn't support it iirc

so your problem may be sound

don't install kotor in the program files folder, it's protected and limits things like patches and stuff.
