Can someone please help me with a problem i am having? i was able to install and play/finish KotOR II before. but I accidentally uninstalled it, so i tried to re-install it but whenever i try i always reach the Data/Sounds.bif section of the disk 1 installation and it always freezes at that point. please help? i really want to play this game again

Would even the slightest of scratches mess up the disk?

Not necessarily, mine aren't in pristine condition, but some scratches can be deceptively deep.

 

Perhaps your HD has some fragmentation issues; try running your defrag (will take a few hours...) and/or installing the game in a different location.
