game crashes after nar shaddaa cutscene

At Nar Shaddaa, after the cutscene in which Visquis gets killed, there is another short cutscene with Mira, and finally one with Kreia and Hanharr. Immediately after that, when the game switches back to my main character, it crashes. Same thing every time, even going back from an older save. I've seen this same problem mentioned in a few places, but so far, no solution ... seems to be game-stopping. Can anyone help?
