alanschu
I just bought Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and I'm getting a wierd stutter while playing. Some people have commented that disabling the second core for the game fixed the problem. The thing is, I have never actually needed to disable the second core before, how exactly can I get Double Agent to only run on one core? Thanks! alanschu
Well, I was able to solve the problem by using the Dual Core Optimizer. Though if anyone would know how, that'd be great :D The only way I can think of is to load up the program, ALT-TAB, and then select a processor affinity and remove a core, but that seems clunky. Oh well, I can play again.
angshuman
You can modify any .EXE file and set the affinity mask so that it runs only on the cores you want. There's a command-line utility for doing that (it changes the header in the EXE and could sometimes trigger the anti-virus), but I don't recall it's name right now... I'll look into it and get back to you. Edit: It's called ImageCFG. Works like a charm! http://www.robpol86.com/Pages/imagecfg.php Edited November 10, 2006 by angshuman
