Performance Issue

Recommended Posts

I just bought KOTOR II , installed it, and I'm having a serious issue with it. My bad if this has already been posted, but I've searched the net and can't find an answer.

The game starts up fine, runs fine up until the main menu-you can move the mouse fine, the sound is fine, but the video runs like a slideshow. If you select options you'll hear the beep, and the page will turn before it's highlighted. The whole thing runs like this, it takes like twenty minutes to setup a character, and the game is unplayable. It doesn't freeze, I can CTRL+ALT+DEL fine, I can ALT+TAB, and my RAM isn't overloaded. My specs:

Pentium D (Dual Core) 2.8G Processor

512 Dual Channel RAM

256 Meg GeForce 6800

I've researched the dual core problem, but it only seems to apply to AMD's, and setting the affinity does nothing for me.

This sounds like a broken record, but I can run F.E.A.R. and HL2 at the highest settings fine, and Oblivion only gives me minor stutters.

I've patched the game, my DX is the latest, and I'm pretty sure my Forceware drivers are updated.

Any help I can get would be appreciated.
