amlei
I have a Dell Dimension 8300 desktop running Windows XP Home Edition, Pentium 4, 3GHz, 1GB Ram, with (2 x) 256 Radeon 9800 XT graphics cards. The problem I have is that when the game is loading, usually during a transition between movies or from movies to gameplay, the game crashes and I'm taken back to my desktop. Usually, when this happened, I would restart my computer and then the game would load the transition without crashing. But, as of now, I'm stuck at a certain point that always causes the game to crash (the point where Kreia rejoins her Sith apprentice and tells him they have much to do). What I need is a solution, or at the very least for someone to point me in the right direction towards a solution. Please ask anything you may need to know in order to help. Thank you. P.S. I know it has something to do with the drivers for my graphics card because when I use the swconfig.exe, and choose to "scan hardware", the graphics card shows red and fails due to the driver being "out of date", but I have the latest "Catalyst 6.4 drivers" for my Radeon 9800 XT graphics card. This is the latest driver, so I don't know how to fix it. Should I maybe try to rollback the driver, and if so, to which version? This was a solution suggested for gamers having problems with new drivers and KOTOR1. If this is the solution, please just tell me which version of Catalyst drivers for my 256 Radeon 9800 XT graphics card I need to install. If this isn't the solution, please present one. thank you. vaxen83
Not too sure about your graphics card, but you could try using those Radeon cards like X300 or X600. Am using X300 on my computer. And it seems to be working relatively ok. Still have occasional parts in K2 where graphics might slow but just for a few moments. Am using driver version 6.14 for it. By the way, you installed direct X 9.0c which would came with K2 game, didn't you? Edited June 6, 2006 by vaxen83 Deep from within... Victims live a life of fantasy. amlei
I have DirectX 9.0c or newer, so it wasn't recommended that I install the 9.0c that came with the game. Also, I'm not looking to change my graphics card. I just need a solution that works with the graphics card I've got. I thought I made that clear. Someone please help. Marka Ragnos
you could try and disable movies to see if that helps.

vaxen83
Could also try resizing your resolution to reduce lag and freeze effects during gameplay. Deep from within... Victims live a life of fantasy. amlei
My computer meets the system requirements. Plus I tried all the other suggestions you guys gave me. None of them worked. The rollback to catalyst 4.2 drivers for the ATI Radeon 9800XT graphics card fixed the problem, at first. Now the computer crashes and goes back to my desktop at a different part of the game (directly after Mira fights Hanhar the second time, on Malachor V).
