Weird Special Effects Colors

While playing at outdoor levels, the special effects (lightsabre, smoke, fog etc) seem to change color according to different camera angles. It just gets annoying when you're venturing around Malanchor and the place is flashing rainbow colors.

 

Is this a common bug or is it just conflicting with my computer?

 

Pentium 4 2.8Ghz

768MB Ram

GeForce FX5200 128MB

it might be something different, but after a while with kotor 1 things would change to a bright solid color. I just had to reinstall the game and things worked fine.
