This is what worked for me to fix these two issues:

 

I of course had all the latest drivers, sound video etc. When the game freezes I end the process (ctrl alt delete, or task manager) and go to the KOTOR2 folder and deleted currentgame and gameinprogress and futuregame. Then restarted the program, this for sure fixed the load issue everytime. Strangely the movie issue went away right after you meet the Big Black Robed Masked guy for the first time in a MOVIE YOU CANT SEE! Though after he appears on the load screen instead of the slashed up guy, all the movies have started working. Strange.
