Cant change stance of my party members.

When in the game I cant change the stance of the myself or the other members. I try to make them stationary, grenadier or ranged or whatever, I do that on the little icon at the bottom left of the screen and when the mouse button leaves the button it returns to melee stance everytime. Am I missing something here?

Once you change the stance, you have to click on the new stance for it take effect.
