Ways to fix the black screen bug?

Could people list here on this thread ways they know of to get around the " black screen of death. " ?

 

 

 

If we had a comprehensive list maybe it would help people out abit easier?

There is no one single cause of the black screen problem. It would be best if those who are experiencing the problem would also describe WHERE they are getting the problem.
