Giving Combat more variety

We all know that in KOTOR things could be done differently each tiime with different outcomes. But one thing that was always the same was combat. The same guy always stood in taht place. Always used the same moves. Making combat as the game was played more often, tedious. A game that is not like is halo. The combat will alwways be differnernt depending on how what the player reacts to the situation. I know what halo is a FPS, but it would be better if each individual unit reacted depending on character level, if there is a granade at their feet ect. Could this be implimented? With better scripting perhaps?
