Regions/Biomes

Featured Replies

Hi! What do you think about adding a mushroom-themed biome? I feel like they could be put to better use. In the first game, there was a toxic area on the map that was cleared up once you plugged the insecticide leak; why not have a similar area? It wouldn't be toxic, but it would be a zone for infected insects.

This region would be teeming with various types of mushrooms, which could serve purposes beyond just food and building materials.

One suggestion is the "Infectious Mushroom": it would release spores when creatures got close, causing the player—or their pets and mounts—to suffer a temporary "confusion" effect, leading them to attack their own allies. This mushroom could also be used to craft arrows that trigger this effect, causing one creature to attack another instead of you—similar to the Cupid/Love mechanic.

In this region, any insect present—whether native or entering from outside—would become infected; essentially, they would be the "toxic" insects from the first game. They would be resistant to "Fresh" damage and weak to "Spicy" damage. If a normal insect dies in this biome, it would reanimate (much like the ****roaches) as an infected version—similar to the Infected Broodmother from the first game (a rule that would also apply to our mounts).

Another suggestion is the ability to craft paint in-game to color objects and structures, allowing for greater customization; this paint could be made using petals and mushrooms. This way, flowers could be put to better use, and there could even be a biome (a small one, similar to the mushroom biome) with a high concentration of flowers—or perhaps the small park garden near the statue—which could also serve as the habitat for bees, wasps, and the Wasp Queen.

And oh, please! Add the curved pine wall!
