Laptop Power Spike(?) on Compiling Shaders

Featured Replies

Hi Obisidian!

We loved your first Grounded game. My partner and I decided to play the Grounded 2.

I had mine first installed and loaded. No problems. However, when his was first booting up and reached "Compiling Shaders", his laptop suddenly tripped and turned off.

We could not get it to power on for a few minutes until I found about the Novo Button.

No fans, no LEDs, even the charging LED.

It booted and we were able to replicate the issue. Upon reaching "Compiling Shaders", his laptop tripped again and I had to wait for a few minutes before I was able to turn it on.

When I inserted his charging cable, I heard a few "pop pop" so I removed it immediately. I was able to see the charging LED turn on and off fast.

For now, we've kept his laptop turned off. Might be a gamble to try and turn it on again if the "Compiling Shaders" spike caused a fault in his motherboard.

We both have the same laptop: Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3. I've attached a screenshot of our device info.
