August 14Aug 14 I really want to point out the sheer amount of enemies and how frequently they spawn, because for me, this has become the biggest problem in Grounded 2.I genuinely wanted to spend a lot of time in G2, but the constant presence of enemies all over the world is really killing my enjoyment of the game. The problem isn't that there are enemies. The problem is simply how many enemies are packed so closely together and how many different enemy types are constantly thrown together. To give a personal example: the area around the Grill. You would expect to encounter Bombardier Beetles there, and maybe not much else. But in reality, I also regularly encounter Spiders, Stinkbugs, ****roaches, Ladybugs, Larvae, etc.And unfortunately, the new update has only reinforced this feeling for me. I only played part of it, but the new areas being packed with huge numbers of enemies already showed me that Obsidian doesn't seem to have this problem on their radar. It seems to get worse the further you progress through the game. The Garden was already no exception, and neither are the Pond and its surrounding areas. On top of that, defeated enemies and the sheer number of corpses lying around seem to have a significant negative impact on performance, which is already a problem in this game.I can't pick up every single corpse and constantly deal with all the resources they drop, so sooner or later I simply have to leave them lying around. And then they don't even despawn.Eventually, it stops feeling like exploration and starts feeling like the game is constantly putting obstacles in front of you just to artificially simulate difficulty even though most of the time, you simply end up running past all the enemies anyway.I think enemy placement should create interesting danger and meaningful decision-making, like it did in G1, rather than turning almost every trip to collect resources into a giant combat encounter.Danger feels much more meaningful when there is contrast. If everything is dangerous all the time, nothing really feels dangerous anymore. It just becomes annoying.
