July 31Jul 31 Dear Obsidian.I am aware that at this point Omni-Tool is here to stay despite me hating it with every fiber of my being. That being said puh-lease for the love of god... make it equipable tool (it just takes up SINGLE slot, we CAN MANAGE THAT) with primary attack button to USE the selected tool and secondary attack button to toggle between functions (Axe, Hammer, Shovel). Why? I hear you ask silently.... Reason is very simple. How many times did you dear reader wanted to loot a bug but instead you pulled out your Omni-Tool and started cutting grass simply because the dead bug was near a grass or a rock or there was a grub diggin the ground just under the bug, or during a battle instead of making a swing you suddenly pull up omnitool to cut grass instead of deal damage to an 8 legged manace? Additionally if there are multiple objects of interest in a very close proximity, the game decides for you which tool you use (and lets face it, all those grubs inderground, grasses or rocks have very irregular hitboxes).Sincerly yours.Dahr'Amahr.
Tuesday at 02:02 AM3 days I also loath the Omni-tool, but also acknowledge it is here to stay. I second the motion to make it a selectable tool rather than automatic. I also support it being a player choice in the menus on whether it just stays automatic or becomes something they have to select. I have to assume there are players that actually like it and I don’t want to take away something they enjoy. Speaking of shared button functions and game choosing which one to perform though, another source of frustration is the dodge button being the exact same as the cancel blueprint button as sometimes the game decides to dodge when I wanted to cancel the blueprint… and as I seem to be precariously perched when building the majority of the time, accidentally dodging is not great.
