13 hours ago13 hr I love Grounded 2 so much (so far...), but I think the game is moving in the wrong direction and I know exactly what it needs. For me, all I want you to do is focus less on making a ton of big updates and focus on making small updates that make the game more accessible (implementing more reworked survival mechanics, like seen in the first Grounded). I understand this is so much harder than I make it out to be. Accessibility is a very, very broad term. And I know: But, what I ultimately want is updates with more meaning to the player base than reusing assets and making a few good quality changes. Making smaller and less stress-inducing updates for the entire development team is very possible, but you can also still get more money from a small game like this. All you need to do is make small steps in a better direction. I understand that Grounded is not a super huge game, and I don't think it can be without updates, but you wouldn't want people who will pay a decent amount to play a good game go play something more entertaining for much less. People will buy Grounded 2, it's a given, but what they really want is a good game (with as many interesting concepts as possible). And, at the very same time, people who originally played Grounded will not buy the game if they dislike the changes your making like a lack of survival mechanics (removal of all craftable tools in placement of the omni-tool and more focus on fighting bugs and other animals). So, I think that a good middle Grounded is focusing more on what made people interested in Grounded (the first). Although this is all pretty difficult, it's really not much harder than I draw it out to be. The very hardest step you can make is continue to strain yourself by making more and more of the same updates you are most likely going to keep making. Taking direct inspiration from Grounded features that are not covered in Grounded 2 will make new players happy because these ideas are interesting, but Grounded veterans will love this content more because it makes them very happy and loved. And no, I don't think Grounded fans hate Grounded 2. They just don't feel that the game is similar enough to the original Grounded. And I think everything you have in the game, so far, is over plentiful for what a sequel needs. But, taking even a little bit of this suggestion is a very important step to making a better game and also making a decent amount of money. I know I have never developed a game, but I understand well enough what good sequels do well and what will make a good game. I am not much smarter than the person reading this, but I know for a fact that this suggestion will get you the results you want for the game and even more. People will obviously be mad with every update after this idea, but for the most part, this is best suggestion I can give you for making a really solid video game.
