Can't interact with companion

Like the title says, I cant interact with Niles, nor can I revive him. The prompt just doesnt show up.

 

Now I just finished his companion quest with zeb and he has a speech bubble above his head and I cant talk to him.

 

Anyone know a workaround or if this will be patched soon?

No workaround adding a +1 with the issue, but Niles for me is also impossible to interact with DURING the companion quest, so I'm trapped behind a door only he can open. Theres also no way back until the quest is complete, or I murder him.
