Forbidden Secrets Of The Undisputed Claim Bug

I can't progress this quest. Im on PS5 and the game has the latest patch installed! To continues the Faction Quest "An Equitable Arrangement" I have to complete the Side Quest as mentioned in the title. To do this I have to interrogate the Man in the Moon Mask. After I start the dialogue I have two options. The standard and a Professor option. No matter what I choose the next dialogue options are the standard one and one that needs 9 observation. What I don't have. After being forced to choose the first option I get another dialogue option. The standart one, a professor option and a Science 9 one. I dont have 9 science. So stuck with either of the other two options. But no matter what combination I choose or companions I bring along. I am left with the "Think I will slink away option." In other words I cannot progress this side quest or the Faction quest that's tied into this one. According to the patch notes, this quest was patched. But it seems it not. Am I missing something or am I screwed? Not having enough points in specific skills should not force you out of a side or faction quest!

ive also had this issue, its compeltely dead for me, im on Xbox on the latest patch too

On PC, Steam and I am also unable to progress the quest too.

Yeah, I've run into this issue too. This mission seems to have a ton of bugs.

I am playing on PC via Xbox GamePass and I also had the professor background and am completely stuck. Just like the OP I only have the "Think I will slink away option." Seems like a bug that needs fixing in the next patch, guess I will do other quests until this is patched. Made an Obsidian account just to comment on this btw haha.

Don't suppose anyone has found a fix for the Man in The Moon Man Mask?

Or are you screwed if you don't have Science 9? Because the Dumb options, The Convict Option, and the 1 Observation option just lead to dead ends and from then on he won't talk to you if you return.

Have to wait for a patch. I have tried all dialogue options now including science 9 and observation 9. It's just broken. Recommend submitting a ticket like I did here: The Outer Worlds 2 | Issue Tracker

Ok. I was just stuck at this. Ended up going back through a different save and still had the same problem. Went back again and tried different dialogue options with Amos and got him to give up more info. Pickpocket the recipe and turned it in. Got the next step of talking to moon man and still had this problem. 

Started the quest over again and did everything the same but instead of pickpocketing the recipe I bought it from what’s her face for $5k. Turned everything in and went to talk to moon man and an extra dialogue option was available about being there to talk to him. 

So to test this out I reloaded the other save where I couldn’t progress the quest and went back to the lady at the bar I had previously pickpocketed from and it let me pay her the $5k still. Went back to the moon man and it let me progress the quest! 

So at least in my case the bug is tied to pickpocketing the drink recipe. By paying the $5k I am now able to progress further.
