Grounded 2 (Steam): Infinite loop when trying to log in with Microsoft account

Hello! I own Grounded 2 on steam and also subscribe to Xbox PC Gamepass. I am trying to play the game with my child by having them log in using my steam copy and I am playing with the gamepass version via the Windows Xbox app. When trying to sign in with their Microsoft account, it is giving me an endless login loop. I type in their password and it accepts it, spins, and then goes back to asking which method to login with (biometrics, password, or email code). I have tried password and email code and they both do the same thing.

Please help! I bought this copy on Steam purely so that I can play with my child and it is not working at all. The first game works just fine in this manner!

I'm really hoping to get some help on this issue! Still same thing. When I type in the password, it just goes right back to the "Choose a way to sign in" options.
