Harvesting Clay and Feather issues

Since the beginning of the game I have had a random bug where 90% of the time when trying to harvest clay or feathers they kind "explode" and pieces either shoot straight up into the air or scatter around the map. it mainly happens with large clay nodes which is a little inconvenient. Does anyone have this issue?

I notice this most with Billy Hogs, Apples and to a lesser degree Cookies. But I definitely have seen this happen
