August 5, 2025Aug 5 There should be a setting to adjust the distance they follow because they get to close when you puck up materials or shooting the bow
August 6, 2025Aug 6 Yes please, either the dumb thing is off wandering around ignoring me completely or he's under my feet preventing me from interacting with anything but him.
August 6, 2025Aug 6 Yes as a builder the buggy follow distance is a issue while harvesting resources.
August 8, 2025Aug 8 Yep, I agree the amount of times it bothered me while collecting resources. For now I made a work around by just making my buggy to stay, collect resources and hop on the buggy. It works for now but I will definitely appreciate if they fix it in future as a QOL fix but for now I think they already have a lot of other trivial issues they r working on. I'm happy to wait cuz I know they will deliver. (Hoping based on how they handled Grounded).
August 12, 2025Aug 12 I find that switching to 3rd person fixes this, but that shouldn't have to be the case of course.
August 13, 2025Aug 13 I agree with increasing the following distance. I don't know how many times I have tried to cut down things, or pick up stuff and I am suddenly riding my buggy.
August 13, 2025Aug 13 This issue keeps popping up on multiple threads so I think they will adjust it in future updates. The only finicky part about the fix is allowing you to get close enough to the buggy to mount it, but not allowing the buggy to get/stay that close to you. If you increase the range at which you can mount the buggy, then you risk that triggering when you don’t want it to. Perhaps there can be a slight delay when you move into mounting range before the code to make the buggy get out of the way triggers.

August 17, 2025Aug 17 First I was thinking "Oh, how cute, is like a real pet claiming for attention". But yes, is very annoying. Please, fix this in the future.

That makes sense... maybe they can use a different whistle for stay and follow.... not sure how to do that..
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Hop off mount, mount stays still until called. This solves the problem. Essentially this is now RDR-G2 so they should really examine how horses work there and just copy paste it. No need to reinvent the wheel when theres a great template just sitting there.
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Yes, the buggy staying still after dismounting does solve the problem, but it does make it feel… less alive. Regardless I think “still” will be a perfect answer for a lot of players. It matches up with what horses doing a lot of games. It seems like a fair portion of players like that it has some autonomy of movement… they just wanted to be less like an attention starved cat.
