I just purchased this game via my Steam account and the multiplayer simply does not work. Selecting the multiplayer button simply produces a message that indicates "You must log in to an Xbox Network account and have an active internet connection to play Grounded 2 online".

1. I do not care about Xbox, having an Xbox account, Cross Play, or having it linked to a Microsoft account. This is a steam game. Why don't you use the built-in architecture of Steam? It's not worth having to spend hours troubleshooting YOUR game to resolve critical issues with the game's base functionality that it claims to offer.

2. The product does not offer the services it advertises. Despite, the loophole of indicating "Early Access", you cannot bait and switch people into buying something that indicates it provides "online co-op with friends" when it doesn't since the feature is broken. This can be reported to Steam via the flag icon on the bottom right of the Steam store page.

I've seen multiple users reporting this same issue recently, so it is not just on my end.

Are you trying to play with friends on Xbox? Or friends who play on steam?

because to play cross play both players have to have an Xbox Network account.

I too am having the same issue.
My wife is on the Steam edition too so we are both on the same platform.

I also downloaded the xbox version just to test, and sure enough it can get on multiplayer just fine, of course can't link up because she's on steam.

Also founders pack, still not showing up in my steam edition.
