The buggys level up and gain evolution choices just like gear in the 1st game, for example the Red Soldier as ant can choose wings and become a flying male ant or get more Armoured and a venomous stinger like a flightless wasp.

i'd like to add my own thing to this, we get opportunities to upgrade our ants mandibles so we can chop down higher tier stuff as chopping T2 right now normally is pretty slow. or maybe when they add more ant species those'll be their respective chopping tiers, ie; red - T1, black - T2, fire - T3, etc.

Theyve already planned some buggy progression. Although i do think this would be cool, maybe stick to evolutions you'd expect to see from each creature IRL, Fire ants have stingers so bring fire ants back for the stingers but Red & black ants do grow wings in their life cycle during mating season
