I just started playing on Xbox and I am thrilled with the game. It’s everything I was hoping Grounded 2 would be. We are playing multiplayer, and have about 8 or so hours into the game so far, so I wanted to provide a list of bugs and general feedback in hopes that some of these can be address as the game moves through early access.

Bugs

1.    At the very beginning of the game Willow and Hoopes spawned in in the same chair. Pete was separate.

2.    Bodies of water are basically not rendering. It is blocky/ pixelated and does not look like water. It is also too shiny, and bugs at a certain distance from the player will walk on water.

3.    Bugs are frequently getting stuck on each other/ each other’s movement paths and on plants and other items. (Ex. Crickets, There is a snail that has been stuck on the same rock the whole time, a Ladybug stuck on a dead body)

4.    Bugs will hit us or us hit them and the hit will not cause damage, even though it should have.

5.    Bugs are not dropping loot every time (Mites especially), or they disappear entirely on death.

6.    The ‘Pet’ animation for Red Ant Buggy is glitchy and either does not trigger or triggers very slow, and will trigger sometimes not even facing Buggy, leaving the teen to pet the air. ‘Follow’ Animation is also very slow and Buggy sometimes does not follow well enough.

7.    Bug summoning- not consistent. Bugs will end up in another players summon bar even after that player has been actively riding the bug for a while.

8.    Building is not working consistently or otherwise is super glitchy. Super build is hit or miss, and if it does work it has lag. Naming boxes and turning builds is also inconsistent.

9.    Inventory select is super slow/ glitchy and sometimes it will jump multiple rows even if using the d-pad. Especially in the campfire.

10. When digging up grubs, a popup says “x to attack” but really you have to use right trigger like normal. It does this for several other actions too, where the button it says to hit is x but it’s actually trigger. (I’m sure the button prompts are different on PC, but the labels are likely still incorrect)

11. Cooking on the campfire won’t allow selection of items, is over all very glitchy.

12. Water storage is not updating for all players, says its empty even though its full. In the same vein, canteen does not consistently pick up water and some droplets can’t be interacted with. A specific example is the droplet stuck on bottom of pipe above ranger station right outside of the food cart can’t be picked up.

13. SO MANY PHANTOM BACKPACKS THAT WE CANNOT GET TOO. They fall into the ground and are rendering at like 60 or so feet away and we can’t get to/ interact with them to pick them back up. So now we have a bunch of lost loot and backpack icons scattered across the map. One backpack magically rose out of the ground at home, but it sank back down before we could grab it.

14. Getting stuck on Pixels (this tends to happen more once the game has been open for a few hours and is usually fixed with a reboot of the game.)  Consistently getting stuck on a pixel near the buried treasure under the apple pieces.

15. Typo in text of dialog at one of the field station convos. It says “she hacked out propriety material” but it should be “our”

16. After a few hours of play/ if a player leaves and others stay in the game, the plants and bugs will stutter in and out, rendering and unrendering. Grass can’t be interacted with when this happens. It is only fixed by the host leaving the game and rebooting the whole thing.

Feedback

1.    I think there are too many aggressive bugs, and not in the places they should be. In Grounded, there were pockets of aggressive bugs (mosquitoes by the water, larva in the mud, mites in the dry grass, spiders by undisturbed items, ext.) but that convention seems to have gone out the window. There are so many spiders, scorpions and mites that it feels like you can’t even take a second to explore or enjoy the world of the game before you are accosted by another wave. It also makes it tiring when you are also dealing with the ORC waves, because there is basically no time to have a moment of piece before going back into surviving.

2.    On top of there being too many bugs, the bugs are weirdly scaled in damage. Ladybugs (which were difficult in early game in Grounded) are now pretty easy for three people.  On the flip side, my team of 3 still has not successfully killed a roach nymph, and only received parts from one after it ended up in a bug war with a bombardier beetle, 3 ladybugs, a larva, and a mosquito, that lasted for over 5 minutes.

3.    The bug aggro radius is also too large. We have had scorpions and spiders chase us half way across the map, aggroing more spiders along the way, to the point that we couldn’t survive it and had to reload the game.

4.    Sliding items do not match correct physics. Specifically, the clover. Once we cut down a clover we have to chase it because it will slide incredibly far – even uphill - and just keep sliding, and at least one of the three leaves will slide into the ground.

5.    I wish there was a way that a player could keep the buggy that they have assigned when they next log in. Because the game gets glitchy, we have had to log out and log back occasionally to reset the game,  but if we are out in the middle of nowhere, the buggys do not come back to the summon bar and do not stay with their player, so then that player is stuck in the middle of nowhere. There should be a way to keep the bug to the player as long as it is not currently in use by someone else.

6.    The canteen ‘use’ button is the same button as ‘attack’, so sometimes we drink water when we are trying to hit an enemy.

7.    As an aside, I would really kill for a hotbar on buggy, or at least, the ability to eat/ adjust gear while sitting. Getting off and back on buggy to do anything is kind of tiring, especially when it feels like the only safe place is on buggy’s back with all the bugs.
