I keep getting "Connected Xbox Network Account Required" message every time I click on Multiplayer. (STEAM & Xbox PC Gamepass)

Featured Replies

I have tried all the troubleshooting tips I can find and nothing ends up working, it's happening on both Steam and PC Gamepass, is anyone else experiencing this message?

This is happening to me on Xbox Series X and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

I had this issue as well I start the game like normal then press the home button highlight the game press start and click quit then restart the game it works every time.

PC: i have this exact issue. i tried disable and enable crossplay, logging into my xbox account, logging out, logging back in.
iven when im logged in my xbox account on pc and in grounded 2 i still get this exact problem, i cant play multiplayer. im not interested in playing singelmode.

i have tried all yt help videos with this i can find and still no luck

what do i do?

I am getting exactly the same problem on Series X and cloud. My Xbox account is logged in (correct profile showing at the top right) but I get this message everytime i click Multiplayer. Have tried "quitting" the game from Xbox home to remove any quick resume problems....have tried reinstalling...all to no avail

Grounded 1 works fine ... just Grounded 2 is screwed for me at the moment. I have two very frustrated boys that cannot play together

Can confirm getting the same issue both before and after hotfix on pc steam version. Have tried everything mentioned above, have also followed the Gaming Services repair instructions for the hotfix issue in case it was related but no change.

Yep, i made a ticket the other day. Still nothing. I've even tried posting comments on their social media posts to try to get this noticed.

Has anyone heard anything regarding this issue?? I just want to play the game 😭

HereWeGo ........ After thinking about it, seeing as there are people out there playing multiplayer on Xbox...I think it's definitely an account problem.

So setup a new account on your Xbox -

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Navigate to your profile and system settings.
  3. Select "Add or switch" and then "Add new".
  4. Enter the email address associated with your Microsoft account.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in and configure your account settings.

Make sure Ground 2 is closed down fully (not quick resumable) and then relaunch the game ... once there switch the profile to this new account you setup and bingo it should work!

I just tried it now and can access Multiplayer under this new account.........
