Steam version can't access multiplayer!

For some reason the multiplayer is working 

 

-I’ve reset my wifi

-reset my Xbox 

-fiddled with my nag type

The title speaks for itself, the steam version of grounded 2 says I need to connect to a Xbox network account but I can see my account is connected in the background. I don't like having my games all over the place but I think I have to return grounded 2 on steam in order to buy it on the Microsoft store which blows!

My son cannot join multiplayer matches with his brother on Grounded 2. The system says he has to have gamepass ultimate but they game share with 2 gamepass ultimate account by the “home” Xbox setting. This needs to be fixed! He can play the single player game with no issues but can’t join the multiplayer match.

My younger son can’t join Grounded 2 multiplayer matches with his older brother. They share games through the home Xbox feature on game pass ultimate. My older son is the primary gamepass ultimate account holder but they never had issues before. When my younger son tried to join multiplayer it prompts him to join gamepass which should not be the case since they game share. Hope they fix this error soon!

clicking mulitplayer prompts that I have to connect to xbox network.  I click OK, it spins, then goes back to main menu in game.  nothing happens.  I can see that my xbox and steam accounts are linked, the game appears to be signed into xbox network but it does not like it.  uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted PC.  Nothing helps.  Xbox version seems to work fine but I want it on steam.

Multiplayer kicks any joined players at character selection screen

I'm also experiencing this where the game keeps saying that I'm not online (and not to mention the Single Player saves aren't working for me either). I'm playing on Xbox Series X with Game Pass.

I was having the same issue, tried restarting everything, I finally got it to work, if you disable crossplay, click multi-player, let it do the load screen, then re-enable crossplay and hit multi-player again, this time while it's in the load screen I had it load my Xbox account on another window, I originally hit the "let's go" button, and it still wouldn't work, I had to choose to use a different account, then once I logged in it kicked me to the start screen, I was able to load in and do multi-player fine, after that I was also able to choose my original account, log in with it and now it will let me access multi-player, hope this helps!
