On Strange Shores bug, progression 100% blocked

Downloaded the game via GamePass on PC, and within ten minutes of gameplay after character creation reached a complete progression blocking bug.

Within the first series of quests to go through the outpost, what I'm assuming is the final step has you jump down into a large courtyard that you cannot climb back up from where you jumped down, and the far end is a locked door. The quest information on the left side says to "Defeat the Other Xaurips", but no Xaurips spawn. Literally nothing for the player to do at this point, and you are stuck in the courtyard area with no options. Took me about 5 seconds to find a thread on Reddit with multiple other people reporting the same issue, some of whom were able to get past it by restarting their game, but others the save was completely broken and they had to restart from character creation.

Not exactly an encouraging first impression of the game, especially since this isn't even listed in the bug tracker.
