The Finer Things in Battle Quest not popping

I cannot get this quest to pop, I've watched other people's playthroughs and it pops right after you fight thala saving the apothecary during the untimely end quest iv already done one playthrough and this is the only quest I didn't have for completing all side quests am I just doing it wrong?

So I've been discussing this over on Reddit, and a user there had success by skipping all quests (including Armour Fit For the Wild) and making straight for the Apothecary quest.

It does mean fighting Thalla with no upgrades at all, which is a bit of a pain on Path of the Damned, but once done, the quest triggered.

This cannot be the intended mechanism for triggering it, as surely Armour Fit for the Wild is the precursor to it.

Needs addressing.

Absolutely needs to be addressed. I just ran into this issue myself.

If the unlock requirements really need you to have not upgraded, it's too missable on Path of the Damned, as you're obviously GOING to upgrade to aid survivability. I'd already done all the other available side content before starting An Untimely End. Probably way over-levelled for what it's expecting, but that's how I play RPGs; side content first, main story later.

Easiest "fix" in my mind would be to have this quest not count towards the all sidequests achievement, or have a safety trigger when An Untimely End is marked as complete.

This also happened to me, progressed through the zone at normal pace, had upgraded a few items to blue before arriving at this point in the main quest.

After saving the apothecary, quest was not given.

Has this now locked me out of the pentiment achievement for completing all side quests?

Yes unfortunately iv done ever quest in the game besides this one and I didn't get the achievement and I was going to do a 2nd playthrough and I can't get it to pop tried for 2 hrs doing different things

Looking to 100% this and can not get this to trigger either, even started a whole new game and:

- Did no side quests including armour one
- Went straight through main quests up to Speak to the Apothecarist, after killing Thalla
- Used only Common +0 gear, did not pick up the unique shield in the bear fight arena
- Used exact same dialogue options as shown in this video where it does trigger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGEJyV4TYE8&t=1691s
- Saved after killing Thalla, reloaded, tried different exit, no joy
- Fast travelled, camped, returned, left again, no joy

I have seen some people say they got it by not talking to watcher, etc. I have tried everything suggested and nothing is triggering it. Hard to want to push on if this will break the 100%!

I just managed to get Finer Things in Battle to pop, I am doubtful it was really this change that did it and not some random chance, but I started a whole new playthrough, stormed straight to the Apothecary quest with Thalla but instead of killing him before talking to the Apothecary, I hid, lost Thalla, spoke to the Apothecarist and then when I killed Thalla I immediately got the dialogue for Finer Things. This was with a C0 wand and not picking up anything or talking to anyone else non-compulsory to get there. Phew!

Same issue here. Just tried going back to an older save and no luck. Do they really think someone would get that far into the story without upgrading when the game is constantly telling you to upgrade?

I've tried every suggested fix, but I can't get this quest to trigger at all. I've even tried not wearing any armor, but no dice
