orthoros Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I can't talk to the Apothecary during the main quest. This is most likely due to me having encountered him before. When I returned for the quest, I had to fight the big guy once more, but the Apothecary never leaves his "scared" animation. A quick search says this can be fixed by reloading a save before ever interacting with the NPC, but let's be honest, I'm not about to reload an 8 hour old save. Is anybody aware of another possible fix? Or do I have to wait for a bug fix to continue the main story? Things I tried: -Restarting the game. -Reloading the area. -Doing another quest. -Resting at camp. 1
MostSaneWatcher Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Just happened to me as well. Killed Thalla (normally) hours ago, now I need to talk to the apothecary for the main quest and I can't. When I approached the apothecary, Thalla spawned in, I killed him again, and he immediately despawned without the death animation. Reloaded, fought him again, killed him again, and he died normally and dropped loot this time, but I still cannot talk to the apothecary. Saved and then loaded the new save, and Thalla is gone, but I still cannot to talk to the apothecary. This seems like an issue you can stumble into pretty easily, hopefully a patch isn't too far off. 1
Saltnomad Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Just happened to me as well, anyone found a work around?
Christopher.Garnett97 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I’ve also had this - I’m completely locked from going any further in the main story due to this. Ran into this character & the Thalla boss early into the game. I believe this has caused the issue. I hope this gets patched in a day 1 update because my early access period is basically capped now.
Valserker Posted February 15 Posted February 15 This just happened to me as well. Explored the city befire continuing the main quest, found the apothecary, broke up the guys harassing him, fought the boss, came back after i progressed the main quest, boss re-appeared, apothecary bugged out and can't talk to him. I tried resetting the game, going to camp, verifying files. This is game breaking and I cannot progress.
Genshijin Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Same Scenario as @MostSaneWatcher. I have heard to reload the game before the second fight and use sneak the hunter ability to talk to the Apoth... However that save file is 2 days prior... So i have not had the energy or willpower to push through all the stuff i did again just to try it.
NightRaven2365 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I have a similar problem. But further I to the game. In the third area. I focused on side quests and now when I go to talk to an npc for the main quest am unable. Completely stuck and cannot continue.
danig17 Posted Sunday at 08:34 AM Posted Sunday at 08:34 AM same happend to me, i continued playing hoping a campsite rest will fix it and it doesnt, i dont even have an earlier autosave so i have to star again the game or hope a day one hotfix will do something :/

I just tried this, but no luck for me -- when invisible and the resurrected Thalla is still alive, there's still no option to talk with the apothecary. I did try it on some other NPCs though and you *can* talk to them while invisible, which is kind of funny.
DejaDrew Posted Sunday at 07:26 PM Posted Sunday at 07:26 PM Same problem here. No work around that I've found so far. Got in the fight with the people bothering the apothecary. Leave and come back to find the ogre spawned again and even after I kill him there is no way to speak to the quest objective.
The_Frog Posted Sunday at 09:25 PM Posted Sunday at 09:25 PM Sadly it happened to me too. After a level up thalla even spawns a 3rd time, but even after killing him AGAIN I still can't speak to the apothecary.... I really hope this gets fixed soon/monday as I really don't want to replay the 12 hours I've already played this weekend
ixxn Posted Sunday at 09:50 PM Posted Sunday at 09:50 PM probably won't help anyone beyond the point, but: I wiped out Thalla before getting to the 'speak to the apothecarist' quest. I realized that after checking the poison flask on the tower, it was spawning a sparrowhawk bowman up the stairs from the apothecarist. First and second time i reloaded a save i wiped out the bowman, couldn't speak to the apothecarist. Third time i crouched past him and it let me talk to the apothecarist.
Nolan Walsh Posted Sunday at 10:55 PM Posted Sunday at 10:55 PM Hitting this issue too. Can't progress and to many hours in to reset. My only hope is a hotfix. Hopefully that comes soon.

I went back to before I killed Thalla & the thugs for the second time (after their sudden respawn) - I looped around back whilst invisible & spoke to the Apothecarist whilst invisible. I think avoiding the combat trigger enables you to speak to him. Once you enable combat that seems to trigger the bugged state where he can’t be spoken to 1

If you make any noise while invisible and alert them at all (even if you don't actually start a fight), then it won't work and you need to retry. Was a bit tricky since there's a thug standing literally right in front of the apothecary, but crouch-walking around him worked. 1 1
Genshijin Posted Tuesday at 07:24 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:24 AM Dang. Thank you for trying! Sad news.
Hoxon Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Frustration: Game-Breaking Bug: Unable to Interact with Yatzli in Thirdborn During "A Path to the Garden" Quest Body: I'm encountering a critical issue in Avowed that's halting my progress in the main storyline. During the "A Path to the Garden" quest, upon reaching Thirdborn, Yatzli is unresponsive and cannot be interacted with, making it impossible to advance. Details: Quest Name: A Path to the Garden Location: Thirdborn Issue: Yatzli is non-interactive, preventing quest progression. Current Party Members: Kai and Giatta Reference video: https://app.screencast.com/C9V05y7QDHird Steps Taken: Reloaded Previous Saves: Attempted to load earlier saves before entering Thirdborn—issue persists. Restarted Game: Closed and relaunched the game multiple times—no change. Adjusted Party Composition: Ensured current party members are Kai and Giatta, as Yatzli is not yet a companion at this stage. (for me, could be I messed up somewhere earlier in the game) Impact: This bug renders the main questline unplayable, effectively breaking the game for me. I've invested significant time and effort, and being unable to proceed is incredibly frustrating. Request: I urge the development team to prioritize a fix for this issue. In the meantime, if any fellow players have found a workaround or temporary solution, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. I plan to share this post across all available forums to raise awareness until this game-breaking bug is addressed. Thank you for your attention.
