Can't Load in Shared Game with Many Hours played on it

I'm not sure what to do. My husband and I have been playing grounded with two friends. Both my husband and I have made saves. For some reason we can't load in it sits on a loading screen. My husband plays on xbox and I play on laptop. A few of the times trying to load in it would say the other was live and hosting, when we were not... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
