Summoner Sets feel underwhelming?

Probably just me, but the ant summoning armor sets don't seem particularly good. While the ten percent chance to summon them every hit is alright, the meek twelve second life span is a bit crippling. Due to how fast many enemies move, and some of them just being in the air, a lot of the time my ants don't really get more then one or two hits in before just dying. Thus not really feeling all that helpful and honestly kind of a waste, but that's just me.

 

My initial expectation was that I'd get one or two permanent ant allies that'd follow me around, either winged ants or just normal ants with a random chance of being a worker or a soldier. When they die, another would replace them after 20-30 seconds. Letting you use them as a distraction to heal yourself or land ranged hits, but also have to focus in once they die as you wait for them to respawn. Thus also giving the scepter more use as you'll be healing them by dealing damage with it, thus letting them help you longer. This was not the case. I don't hate the armor as they are now, and changing them to make them more consistent would require some balancing, for sure. But it just feels kinda underpowered, at least by my experience so far. I'm just someone who likes having minion builds. Sorry if I made this topic wrong, I don't really submit these kind of things normally.
