Network code and lag on coop

Hello Grounded team!

So, I don't know if there's anything to be done at this point in development, but I wont lose anything suggesting it.

I'm from Brazil, recently moved to Europe, and my coop experience with my brazillian friends have been affected by how the game calculates position and action, both from my character, items and monsters. Not being able to rely on parry because of a 1 second delay in action, I'm forced to use only ranged weapons, which often shoot in the past resulting in a miss.

Since it's a coop game, I wonder why the net code had to be programmed to constantly sync with the hoster. Other games like Earth Defense Force (I really enjoy hitting giant bugs) and the more recent Helldivers 2 let most of their calculation to be made client side (I imagine). So, even playing with 160ms with my friends, If I aim and shoot at something in my game, I'll always hit it. 

Could you people please give a look if there's anything you can do to make the experience of high ping players better?

PS: Please, have in mind that I know almost nothing of coding an online game. I only speak by experience.
