There is no reliable way to Reset Timer

I have a switch hooked up to a 10s timer. The switch calls Start Timer when switched on and when switched off. If I hit the switch at 8s, the timer still fires at 10s.

Based on some testing, it looks like the timer takes ~500ms to actually reset? This is making some logic puzzles a bit fragile.
