sometimes when i kill gnats they fall into the ground and straight up vanish. and its really annoying because gnat fuzz is hard to get when especially since i have a hard time finding gnats, I'm scared to go to the light thing at night because of the wolf spiders and its just hard to kill them because they fly and they're small.

I recommend you build a grass platform and a set of stairs up the tree to the light. Make a base up there. You can kill the gnats nightly and have plenty of food and gnat fuzz 🙂 

This has happened to me also. Notably around by the great machine, and also the watery area between the New Red Ant Hill and Stepping Stones.

 

Go to the garbage heap. On top of the trash can, there are meaty gnats that are slower, lower to the ground, and drop more than a normal gnat
