After almost 900 hours in the backyard, i've come across a few ideas i'd like to share in hopes of inspiring some content to come

Building ideas:
1.) Clay and pebble ramps, with an flip option similar to that of the triangle walls

Why? mostly cosmetic , cleaner looking ramps, diamond shaped windows when using clay/pebble walls

Clay / pebble blocks, similar to the foundation (2x2) but its simply (1x1)

Ive built many bases with the clay and pebbles, having them become more versatile and getting added features in the recent updates has been great.

2.) Spinning wheels, i think every one has a room or two dedicated to having multiple of these bad boys laying around (i cant be the only one). I wouldn't mind seeing a QOL update for these, possibly more than 5 spaces per device , or even a super spinning wheel with a chest attachment for some continual spinning , more aphid power? my only complaint is after venturing out to the backyard , it's a minor chore to come home and start up multiple spinning wheels again and again.

3.) Coloured Ziplines! You know where all your ziplines go, right? you built them, but do your friends? or perhaps you're a zipline clutter, then coloured ziplines might be your solution!

mashing various bug parts with another ingredient perhaps to make dyes for your ziplines, through the grinder or smoothie maker perhaps?

4.) Dr. Tully, the Assistant, He jokes about you serving Java's but now he's here to serve you!

This can also point back to my previous idea on spinning wheels , you can assign Dr. Tully to do the simplest of tasks around your base, like transfer from X chest to X appliance , this could eliminate the need for having so many spinning wheels, limit furnace needs , grinders, ect

If you have sap collectors nearby , he can collect those when they become full and put them in the chest you assign for you , or even an allocated chest for him that you can access or he simply has an inventory of his own that you can open/check by talking to him

he can put freshly made food from the cookery into your fresh food storages for you upon their completion

refill jerky racks with leathers ect

collect dews and place into water containers should you so desire

the possibilities are up to the imagination

5.) New Boss Ideas ( we all have a few of these amiright?)

A. Rat/Mouse - Located upon the Deck via a mouse hole into the house

Items / Equipment:  Rat Teeth, Rat Tail, Rat Claws

Rat Teeth: could make dual short swords , leaving you with out a shield but fully armed, two attacks at the single click of your... mouse (pun regrettably intended)

Rat Tail: another new weapon idea, a Whip! much like spears and daggers this wont have a combo but just unleashes a multitude of slashes until stamina is depleted

Rat Claws: rats are good at digging and burrowing , or so google informs me, so lets introduce the tier 3 shovel with a rat claw spade!  why you ask? well i have an idea..

B. Frog/Toad - Located around the pond , Maybe closer to the Moldorc tower with the mosquitos near by, since i guess that'd be a food source for it, and by water

Not entirely sure what kind of frog, but we have tadpoles so this seemed like a possible boss to work into the yard, if so, a stage of the boss fight could be done in the koi pond , making the koi fish some-what more of a threat as at any moment you need to avoid him, and or utilise the lily pads so you would need to use daggers for the underwater parts of the fight

and to access this area of the boss fight? yep! tier 3 shovel ! - i think we have enough boss fights that require parts from other bosses to cook so lets do something a little dif

Items / Equipment: Frogs legs/parts, Frog Tongue, Frog glands

Frog Tongue: might be a useful tool in grounding flying bugs, uncoil your weapon at your enemies and pull them in, or down to the ground , low in damage used more like a support item , swap weapons or help your friends by pulling bugs away from them (excluding bigger bugs, maybe if you try to pull them, you get pulled to them instead?) or grounding some of those pesky flying ones

Frog legs/parts: these would be contributing parts of the armour sets , mixed with glands could result in "Minor Threat" although frog toxins alone arnt usually enough to deter predators but mixed with other venoms from the backyard, could?

Frog Glands: as mentioned above, mixed with other venoms could make for a nasty set of armour, or shield where on blocks, or on-hit damage apply a sort of de-aggro effect , if you're out exploring and dont feel like fighting back against those aggressive bugs, upon being struck , gives you 3-5 seconds of "unwanted" where the bug or creature loses interest in you, temporarily (bug will heal upon retreating/resetting) this avoids poisoning the bug and letting it run away and continually taking damage

Base Defences! with comfort, comes perks! not just for you but your structures aswell

various perks might be added defence to walls. or giving them a small HOT (heal over time) a bandage if you will

NEW DIFFICULTY SETTING!

mild, medium, whoa!, and now... nightmare!

This mode would mimic Whoa! in a lot of ways, however bugs and creatures have a larger roaming field, bugs limited to the upper yard are now all over , the same general quantity just more randomly spawned, and with their wide roaming, you might find a black ox beetle by the hedge base or a widow spider by the sandbox

everything is aggressive, with wider fields of detection , even neutral bugs (exception ofc being harmless bugs.. or maybe?)

stamina is lower (at the start) but molar upgrades give more (so its the same as other modes at max molar)

health is similar to stamina's working

aphids and weevils are more scarce , and roam farther than their usual areas so their not only harder to find, but less frequent

random spawning materials, minus grass and weed stem sources, these sources will have a chance to not spawn each new day, somethings take 1 day, some take 3, no longer! 1 day could be 5, or 8! who knows?! use your materials wisely they may not be back for a while

damage bonuses are reduced, slightly . not sure off the top of my head what %'s are but if say salt added 30% , it now only adds 20% so in turn you deal a little less dmg

night time will spawn extra bugs at the expense of fewer rewarded materials

build threat much faster

structures have less health

anything else that could make the game a littler harder, remember it's meant to be a nightmare, a daunting experience! but also doable.. with patience

Just a few ideas and thoughts i've compiled while goofing around in the backyard , stay small !
